The Aries™ PTT is rated for submersion in up to 20 meters of fresh or saltwater for 2 hours / 10 meters for 10 hours.
The Aries™ push-to-talk measures an incredibly small 2.5″ tall x 1.5″ wide x .75″ thick allowing for ease of mounting to the front of a plate carrier while leaving plenty of room for a cased electronic user device (EUD).
The Aries™ PTT is compatible with the company’s headset models terminated with our push/pull connectors with locking sleeve. Likewise, in order to not grow the length of the PTT housing, we exited the Aries™ PTT housing with twin cables terminated down & away from the PTT housing with twin push/pull connectors with locking sleeves (see next two photos below depicting radio/ICS download cables with connectors). This configuration allows the user to connect one or two radio connectors or one single or dual-net radio cable and an ICS cable or simply one radio connector (capping off the other when not in use). The Aries is compatible with the entire line of 21GC™ cables. None of the 21GC™/Aries™ cables are chipped and therefore not limited in scope or use and/or required for periodic upgrades / re-programming.
The Aries™ evolved during the development of the 21GC™ comms suite to meet the needs initially of assaulters on a military squadron. The 21GC™, for the assaulters, was overkill – they were not required to carry multiple dual-net radios therefore did not need PTT access for up to 4 nets. The Aries™ features a single, blackened, MOLLE clip that can easily be unscrewed from the back of the PTT housing and repositioned on the front of the housing to re-orient the twin, shrouded PTT actuation switches—allowing ease of access for both left- and right-handed trigger pullers.
